Thought of the Day 7-27-15

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. (John 4:34 NKJV)

A wonderful feature of spiritual ministry is that it refreshes the one who engages in it. Take, for example, the incident of Jesus at the well of Sychar. He was genuinely thirsty when He asked the woman for a drink, but He ignored His own condition. Instead He engaged her in a conversation that ministered the water of life to her soul.

Then the disciples returned. To their surprise, the Lord looked so refreshed that they began to ask one another where this provision had come from the answer was, of course, that in giving another to drink of the living water, He himself had found His own thirst satisfied. Life in the Spirit and ministry in the Spirit are always like this.

Thought of the Day. 7-21-15

Please give heed to the old saying ” Stop and smell the roses.” While it is just a figure of speech, why not take it literally? While you’re at it, walk barefoot through the grass, climb a tall tree, stomp through a rain puddle, and chase a grasshopper. Enjoy God’s creation more.

When God was creating the earth, God could hardly wait to finish and make you, because God knew how much you would love all that you could see and touch and smell and taste. Take time today to enjoy your beautiful surroundings. See the world as a little child does, and look for something to explore. May you always enjoy your world.

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. (1 Timothy 6:17 NLT)

Thought of the Day 7-15-15

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, (Philippians 3:13 NKJV)

Go ahead and set goals that may seem feasible to you. You will be more than pleasantly surprised, because what you think is impossible is attainable through Jesus. A baseball team that hasn’t been to the World Series in nearly a hundred years still begin each season at same place every other team does: 0-0, with its sights set on participating in that classic October series.

If you don’t expect to succeed, you probably won’t. Nothing is too far-fetched when you trust in God and strive for greatness through Jesus. Read the Bible and see all the incredible things God wants you to accomplish. Dream big and live large for God.

Thought of the Day 7-8-15

My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. (Psalms 89:34 NKJV)

Charles Capps said, “Spoken Words program your spirit. Words are containers. They carry faith, or fear, and they produce after their own kind. The body of Christ must begin to live in the authority of the Word. For God’s Word is creative power. The creative power is produced by the heart, formed by the tongue, and released out of the mouth in word form.”

Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. (Psalms 119:89 NKJV)
