Thought of the Day 7-18-17

So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. (Luke 24:15 NKJV)

You must never entertain preconceived ideas of how Jesus Christ will come to you. If you regularly have your quiet time and wait upon Him, these will become precious times to you during which you will become aware of His divine presence. At such times it is almost unnecessary to say a word because you will know that Christ is with you, and your soul is nourished.

The time comes, however, when you have to take part in the activities of life and accept life’s challenges. Even though your quiet time with God has provided you with spiritual and mental balance, the demands of your specific circumstances could make you forget that you have spent time with Him.

The way in which to maintain contact with Jesus throughout the course of a busy day, is by seeing Him in unexpected places. He is not restricted to your quiet time with Him or to your personal prayer life. He can speak to you through the voice of your fellow man. He might look to you through the eyes of a lonely stranger seeking companionship. You might see His beauty in the smile of a small child. A brief prayer for passersby in a busy street might bring Christ very close to you.

Never be too busy to obey God. As you obey Him in seemingly unimportant matters, He will become increasingly real to you and you will hear His soft footsteps at unexpected places and times. Take time to see footprints in your walk of life. text-decoration:none
