Thought of the Day 1-31-17

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30 MSG)

It’s important for you to take a breather from the demands of life. Sometimes rest may be for your muscles, while at other times it may be for your mind or even for your spirit. Remember life sometimes just overtakes us.  Jesus and His disciples frequently retreated from the crowds to seek a quiet place so they could be refreshed. You, too, need to take time out, because I want you to be at rest and refreshed. You who are weary come, and I will give you rest.

And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. (Mark 6:31 NKJV)

Thought of the Day 1-23-17

God does not want your heart full of worries and fears, tossed and turned by every challenge that comes your way. He wants your heart at rest and established by His grace toward you. But when you think that the breakthroughs to your challenges depend on your ability to obey God , then your heart will not at rest. Why? Because you can never obey God perfectly.

But when you depend on God’s grace. That is, His undeserved, unmerited favor, the opposite happens, your heart becomes established. When you know that the only thing that qualifies you to receive God’ blessings is Faith in the finished work of Christ, your heart becomes established. Then, you will walk with full assurance that His blessings will be manifested in your life.

My friend, God wants your heart established, knowing that His righteousness, healing, protection and provision are yours, all paid for by Jesus finished work at the cross. God’s blessing are sure in your life because they are not dependent on your ability to keep His laws, but Jesus perfect obedience. So let your heart be established by God’ grace. Because of His grace, you have full access to His blessings. You longer have to worry about whether you are good enough. You can stand firm on the promises made in His Word and enjoy His blessings today because Jesus has paid the price. Your part is only to believe and receive!

For it is good that the heart be established by grace (Hebrews 13:9 NKJV)

Thought of the Day 1-18-17

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: (2 Corinthians 5:14 KJV)

The word constrain means “to grip tightly.” Paul was motivated by Christ’s love flowing through him. God’s love was the driving force that led him. It is the very power of living in godliness. I encourage people to focus on God more, not trying harder to overcome sin.

Many people are driven by fear instead of by affection for God. When fear comes, we need to respond with love. The freedom, power and pleasure of this is within the reach of every Christian, because it is the work of the Holy Spirit in the human Spirit. The Holy Spirit pours out God’s very affection into the human heart regardless of where we’ve been wounded or broken. It’s a supernatural activity that transcends the human heart.

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (Romans 5:5 KJV)

As we position our hearts to make love the first thing, we will be lovers before we are workers. We will be worshipers before we are warriors. Through Christ’s loving embrace, He will show us that we are to be a bride before we are an army. Make it a point to be driven by love.

Thought of the Day 1-10-17

Mother Teresa said, ” Nakedness is not for a piece of cloth. Nakedness is for human dignity, for respect. Homelessness is not only for a home made of bricks. Homelessness is being rejected, unwanted, unloved, uncared for, having forgotten what is human love, what is human touch”.

Thought of the Day 1-4-17

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (I John 1:7 NKJV)

The devil will always make you feel that you are not qualified or clean enough to go near God. The truth is regardless of how you feel and what you have done, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. In the original Greek text, the tense for the word “cleanses” denotes a present continuous action. This means that once you are a believer, the blood of Jesus keeps on cleansing you from every sin!

If you have sinned, remind yourself that Jesus’ blood keeps on cleansing you from every sin 24 hours a day, seven days a week and move on with God. The eternal blood of Jesus offers you eternal redemption and everlasting righteousness. Accept the payment of His blood as a final, perfect and only sacrifice you will ever need!

Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. (Hebrews 9:12 NKJV)

For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. (Hebrews 10:14 NKJV)

So you can rest knowing that you are always forgiven in this continuous “wash cycle” of Jesus’ blood. Because you are continually cleansed, you are always in the light.
