Thought of the Day 12-17-14

And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ (John 1:32, 33 NKJV)

A dove is a very sensitive animal. Remain is very important. If I have a dove on my shoulder and I walk down a few steps, how do I keep the dove from flying off? Then every step is with the dove on my mind. We need to learn to Host the presence, so that every place we go the atmosphere becomes charged by His Presence. What you are aware of, you can release. What you are conscious of, you are positioned to manifest.

Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth. He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground. But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself. And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark. Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth. So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore. (Genesis 8:7-12 NKJV)

The dove is always looking for the resting place.

So that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. (Acts 5:15, 16 NKJV)

Shadows have no substance, but your shadow will always release what overshadows you.

Thought of the Day 12-15-14

Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ” Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her. Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:16-21 NKJV)

The first person to hold Jesus at birth was Mary the virgin. This represented the finishing of the law. The first person to touch Jesus after the resurrection was Mary Magdalene. This represented the season of Grace.

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. (John 20:22 NKJV)

Thought of the Day 12-8-14

“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:23, 24 NKJV)

If you pray for what you’ve already attained, you’ll never have the Joy of seeing it answered. Prayer is getting answers, which is the ongoing source of Joy. If we don’t get our Joy from breakthrough in prayer, then we’ll have to get our Joy through discipline of prayer. We begin to celebrate form instead of breakthrough. Joy is such a heavenly commodity. Joy is so valuable in Heaven, that God reserved Joy for the reward for enduring the cross. Joy is what the Father gave Jesus to honor Him.

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2 NKJV)

Thought of the Day 12-1-14

Bless your husband by praying for your husband today! Paul instructed all Christians to pray for one another. This includes wives responsibility and privileges to pray for their husbands. Earnest prayer for your husband is good for him, for you, and the spiritual health of your home.

Satan desires to destroy your husband, especially his character and his leadership in your relationship. Trust God through prayer as you daily surrender your husband and marriage to the Lord’s wise, loving care.

Pray today that your husband will grow in leadership skills in your relationship-protecting and providing for you. Pray that he will lead you wisely and love you sacrificially so that God will be glorified in your marriage.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. (Ephesians 5:25-29 NKJV)
