Thought of the Day 9-11-14

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. (Psalms 32:7 KJV)

Think of yourself in the midst of a great battle, surrounded by an enemy who is closing in on you with an overwhelming arsenal. It looks as though you are greatly outnumbered and that your foe will soon overtake you! But what he does not know is that you have an Ally ready to rescue you.

The Lord is your Ally, your Deliverer. You have nothing to fear, for He will help you defeat your adversaries and I will rescue you in mighty fashion, just as He has done for countless believers before you. He is your shield and your refuge. Take shelter in Him and know that He will save you.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. (Psalms 46:10 KJV)

Thought of the Day 9-9-14

Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! (Psalms 27:14 NKJV)

I know that some days you feel as if you are being hit from every side. The demands of work and home can be overwhelming. You can stand strong, because He is your Rock and your foundation when all else around you crumbles and shakes.

He is quick to rescue you and lift you up. Numerous times in His word you read of men who called upon His name and He rescued them. In the face of all your daily stresses, keep in mind that He has overcome this world. You have nothing to fear.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NKJV)

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (Romans 8:37 NKJV)

Thought of the Day 9-4-14

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38 NIV)

I know that you are aware that there are hurting people in this world, but did you know that some of those individuals are ones whom you work and live? Without you even knowing it, there are people in your life who need someone to show them love and to encourage them to keep on.

Whatever their needs are, consider that you may be just what they need. You may be the answer to their prayers. You may have the money to help someone through a financial crisis, or you may be the friend someone needs to confide in. You may simply have the smile to turn a coworker’s day around. Keep your eyes open today, and you will notice many opportunities to give. You have a unlimited surplus of love.

Thought of the Day 9-3-14

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (1 Peter 5:7 NLT)

So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. (Matthew 6:34 NLT)

Why do you worry? Has God ever let you down, or not been able to carry your burdens upon His immeasurable broad shoulders? How He longs for you to come to Him with all your concerns. It is not a mark of weakness when you rely on Him, but rather, it is a sign of great faith and an example to others of His commitment and power.

How He longs for you to run to His arms and pour out your heart to Him. He loves you so much, and He desires to prove it to you over and over. So don’t worry about anything, whether big or small, but instead trust in His goodness.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5, 6 NKJV)
